After market cases didn't normally have numbers on them.

You have some options. I'm not a lawyer or DMV employee so YMMV.

Do nothing and tell the DMV that it didn't come with a number. They might issue you one or kick the whole thing out or treat it like a custom build. None of which are great.

If you stamp the same number from your frame you risk using a number that's on file (frame and motor don't normally match unles it's spanish). Same problem if you just make one up.

If it were me I'd find a junk case that will never be on the road and copy those numbers to your new block. Destroy the old block. Again this could be legally iffy.

Good luck

Serveta jet 200 rear shock mount

The solid peg that is the upper mount for the rear shock on this Serveta Jet is measuring 22mm in diameter, while normal Series 3 Lambretta shock bushing tubes are 18mm in diameter. Lets just say that fitting a new and expensive shock to this Jet isn't going to slip right on there.

Issue solved. I put a strong vice grip clamp on the tube and hammered it loose, allowing me to work it off. The seam was covered by powder coat.

Front Disc Brake "I" Cap

Does anyone know a way to secure the front brake "i" cap cover? I have lost 2 on the road. Picture below for reference

You could install a grub screw to force it into place and keep it from coming out, but then you have a big grub screw stuck on the side of your back plate. I would try flexing the legs of the cap outward just a little bit so it bites into the back plate a little stronger or and maybe in conjunction with some use of some low-grade Loctite so it sticks together.

Vape or Variatronic?

Hi all, I’m looking for advice on whether to go with a Vape or Variatronic (Casatronic?) ignition system.

Right now I’ve got an LI150 engine that needs a flywheel which will be going electronic, and soon I’ll be rebuilding an early Series 3 TV175—that one will also be getting an electronic ignition kit.

Would love to hear your experiences or recommendations—much appreciated!

Vape is a much better EI system than a varitronic. Upgrade the crankshaft to GP200 also.
