Turn Indicators
I am about to attempt to get my Li 150 S3 without a battery tagged in NC. The scooter was titled in WV and has been there since I purchased it in 1980 until it's recent restoration (WV title in hand in my name). It appears that I have two options in NC for tags. Option 1 is standard motorcycle tags, the issue is NC requires motorcycles to have turn indicators to pass the required annual safety inspection. What are my options to add them? Are there any "kits" available or a parts list? If I went this route, I would not want to drill holes if at all possible. So clamp on lights for the front and a replacement rear light would be preferred. I would also have to figure out how to mount and run a three position water proof switch. What else would be needed?
Option 2 is antique vehicle tags. The issue here is the limitation on use "Antique plates should be used for vehicles primarily used for exhibitions, club activities, parades and other public interest events". The upside is no annual safety inspection is required and property tax is based on a maximum $500.00 value. One question I have is could I have legally ridden this scooter from my home to the LCUSA event in Bristol this year? Could I have otherwise transported the scooter there and legally ridden it at the event? It was a club activity, be it across state lines.

A lot of us ride with “classic” or “collector” plates here in Minnesota with similar restrictions. It’s never been a problem. Every destination is a club event
