Series 1, 2, 3 to GP

I lost the key to my Series 3 Lammy around 1964 and have used a short chain and padlock since. I finally broke down and bought a new lock. However, I don't think the lock is complete. Here is a photo of the area where the lock is inserted. Any ideas? Thanks!
