I just wanted to share some pics of Portland's Spring Scoot, which is put on by Twist & Play Scooter Club here in Portland. This event is open to all scooters, vintage & new, Euro & Asian brands, and seems that some motorcycles snuck into the rides at times. This was a 3 day event full of rides, bar hops, pool parties, concerts, breakfasts, raffles, awards and lots of other stuff ... so much stuff that there was no way to catch it all, choices had to be made.

Lot of Lambretta's showed up as well as lots of vintage Vespa's. It was good to see the vintage metal scooters were in force and all running strong. The weather was ideal for the entire weekend.

Sunday was a breakfast and big raffle. Lots of prizes from plenty of sponsors made the stage look like a garage sale of everything you can think of, including two newer Vespa's scooter giveaways. I don't know how many tickets Twist & Play sold, but I think they sold all the tickets they had. Some folks looked like Rambo with bullet belts crisscrossing their chest...but in this case it was huge ropes of tickets.

I had to cut out early, because I had Mother's day plans. As I was getting ready to fire my Lammy up, a friend of mine poked his head over the fence and yelled that I had won some kind of award. ?? I was puzzled ?? I did not buy any tickets (knowing I would have to leave before the raffle started) and I had not entered into any contest.

As it turned out, Twist & Play had HAND MADE a bunch of trophy's for different categories. The trophy I won was for 'Best Lambretta'. I was stunned, honored and stoked. This was my first trophy ever. Each trophy was unique, made of scrap parts and had some kind of wise ass remark written on the plaque. So Very Cool and such an honor.

This was a very fun event, well run and well attended. I met several riders from the Oregon 100 rally and met some new friends too. I'm looking forward to this event net year. Cheers.
