How is My New Lambretta Ownership Going, You Ask?
Great overall..... well, I think! 😀 Before continuing, a Full Disclaimer: I am a "newbie" to vintage scooters (but learning) and have a long way to go to be mechanically self-sufficient or have an intelligent conversation about them without getting laughed out of the room. I'll probably always have to rely on others (everyone has been great) and shell out $$$ to have things fixed. So, there's that.
Carrying on. The backstory is that, based on a referral from a friend, I recently picked up a "newly restored' 1980 Jet 200 in Florida. The bike was "Concurs Level' shiny at first glance and full of potential happy miles ahead. My first ride started well, but then reality started to sit in - "gunked up" throttle cable and housing (constant stuck high-end revving), float sticking, jets clogged, wouldn't start, etc. And all within the first 24 hours of ownership! 😀 Fortunately, several experienced Lambretta owners came to my aid to offer help (and to fix a few things temporarily). Since, I've upgraded my carburetor (from stock to Dellorto PHBL 24mm), replaced jets, switched to a POD-style air filter, and a few other things. I've also attempted a little idle "tuning" best I could (keep in mind my "Newbie.- Don't Know Crap" skill level). Now she starts up and runs well, but still has an idling problem (after warmup) when stopped. In summary, my first two months of ownership - $$$$$$$$.
TODAY, I'm leaving my neighborhood, and the damn left-side cowl comes detached and bounces/slides across the street! Guess I didn't have the spring-loaded clip set correctly (more "Newbieness")! Fortunately, no cars were behind me to run over it and inflict further damage. The cowl's paint (and "200" sicker) is scraped up pretty badly (the picture really doesn't do it justice). Nothing got dented. Those who know me understand that I'm too ANAL to let the scapes go, so I'm looking at having someone repaint the cowl and replace the decal.
Question - Does anyone know the Paint Code for the glossy white Jet 200s?
Thanks for reading and for any help!

Welcome awillis858! We're all "newbies" at some point. I've been riding scooters since 1984, Lambrettas for only the last 12 years, and I'm currently in the middle of my first Lambretta motor build. As mentioned before, Sticky manual is a must. I find the parts manual very helpful too. U.S. Lambretta parts shops all sell them online (Casa Lambretta USA, Scooter-Speed and Scooters Originali). There are also additional helpful items on our Resource Library page which we'll be adding more soon. Our new technical forum has been a helpful resource too. no question is a dumb question and you might get several answers 😉
As for a paint code for your Serveta, that may be tough as not many Servetas were imported into the US and I haven't see a chip book for them, unlike the Italian machines. that's not to say they exist. I might suggest taking your panel to an auto paint supplier and have them scan it with a spectrometer to give you a matching formula, which may be more accurate of a match.
