LCUSA Vice President Bid
My name is John Manion and I would like you to consider me for the position of Vice President of Lambretta Club USA.
I have seen the LCUSA improve and change over the years with its members bringing a passion to the hobby like no other. Having attended a number of Lambretta Jamborees and rallies over the years, I know the importance of respecting a coast to coast vision for the club, both big markets and small. We all hold this hobby with the same regard, whether you ride year round in warmer climates or are forced to have your scooters hibernate for 4 months of year. Riding and the passion of the members is what will continue to propel the club.
My goals as Vice President would be to support the agenda set out by the Club President, continue to improve and expand the clubs reach, work to recruit new members and to continue in the clubs commitment of inclusion and diversity. I would also like to expand the Club stores regalia and products available to club members, work with shops in the US for exclusive products and finally to act as an International Ambassador for LCUSA.
I have been active participant in the scooter scene since 1984 when I purchased my first Ve$pa. Over the years, like many of our members, I rode a variety of scooters but in 2008, after the urgings of my wife Kristin, I purchased my first Lambretta. As a Lambretta owner since the early 90’s, Kristin had already sold me on the superior styling of the Lambretta but I was waiting for the right model before making that leap. I was fortunate to find a very nice 1967 Series 3 SX200 and a few years later I followed that up with the purchase of my second Lambretta , the 1960 Series 2 Wintermaster which was built locally for the 2016 Lambretta Jamboree, returning it to its home in Minnesota. Both of these scooters have been mainstays for me and I ride them locally and to a variety of out of town events on a regular basis.
As for my personal history, I am a native Midwesterner from Chicago. I am husband and father and ride regularly with my wife Kristin. As a buyer and businessman, I travel extensively both domestically and internationally. My work has allowed to meet scooterists worldwide and I regularly attend rallies and events. It is during these travels that I have touted the LCUSA as a premier club and truly believe that the club is on the same level of any number of European Lambretta Clubs. I would like to build on our reputation and promote our club to a worldwide audience.
