1976 Jet 200, Dismantling, Frame Straighten and Refurbishment;

My Jet 200, which I have had for 25 years had an unfortunate run-in with a large, stout fence post and I think lost that battle. As a result the Lammie is getting a complete refurbishment but will first require some frame straightening.

Questions:

  1. How does the leg shield come off the frame tube? All the small screws and nuts holding the leg shield to the frame crossmembers have been removed but it will not let go. Seemingly a fastener behind the Servetta badge. Is there a bolt behind the badge and how does the badge come off?

  2. Can the forks be straightened or are new forks advisable? What experience is there with this?

  3. The tube frame is slightly bent. Around 3cm. (1 inch) is my guess. Where do I find complete dimensioned frame blueprints? I found the Series III frame blueprint on this site but it does not give a distance from seat attachment to top of steering tube.

  4. Any sugestions for sourcing cables and brake levers and other parts would be appreciated.

  5. Any suggestions and advice on refurbishment would be much appreciated.

I am a new member and excited to be part of the Lambretta world.
