Powder coating example -

I have a local powder coater and I have used them in the past for bmw r100 rims and such. They do a great job in terms of precision of placement of the yes and no areas, they have thousands of color options, and I feel that the result is worth their costing. This is the type of shop that normally does custom auto work, so bling is important to them- their showroom is full of coils, headers, metal frame parts, all with metallic flake hotness. Initially, I wanted gloss and metal flake, but its 1.5x the normal cost of basic colors, so I opted to choose from the cheaper set of 100 chips. I wanted a deep blue, almost purple, and that is what i got. Name of color is Stanton Blue. https://www.prismaticpowders.com/shop/powder-coating-colors/PSB-2004/stanton-blue

Cost was 1k, for many pieces.

There is a slight orange peel effect on the surface of the legshield, but I am happy that the product is what it is, due to its durability. To offset this strong of a blue, I am aiming to use the headset and side panels in a lighter color to balance things out.

I do like the hubs the most- except for the droplet on the end of the stud.

I just thought that this powder coating example would be a good reference for anyone pondering powder vs paint.

I don’t have panels for this project yet. I didn’t consider filler.

If the parts fit, I’d say powder coat them.
