Hi guys,
I'm new to LCUSA and I just purchased my first two lambrettas. I've been into V3$p@s for awhile and small motorcycles since I was a kid. I enjoy the patina look and I just got ahold of a pair of survivors that are all in original paint and i was wondering what the best way to go about preserving it might be? There's quite a bit of surface rust on the li125. That side panel is more rusty than the one on the other side which is a nice blue color. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks!

The bike in the topic was in better condition but I believe the process would be similar. Disassemble, clean, soak parts in rust remover, wipe parts down with a rust inhibitor. I have not had experience in the process of sa ing original paint with a bike in as rough shape as the one you have posted.

There isn't much paint on either one of those to preserve but what Stu says is right. Carefully remove, clean and rust remover each steel part. Even then the rust will come back. Your best action would be to have them blasted to bare metal and restored correctly (if you want them to last another 60 years).
If you decide to let go of that Series1, I've been looking for a S1 LI125 to complete my 125 LI to DL collection (just throwing that out there).

I clean the parts with purple power and then rinse and treat with evaporust. Then clean, wax, and buff. Below are pics of my Tv200 I am preserving. Check my page on fb for other examples
