Is it possible for Speedo bulb blow when cable not connected ?
Changed tires. Speedo bulb was grounded in headset, working, before tire change. Neglected to properly secure speedo cable assembly to back plate, disconnected while checking new tires on road. Noticed and stopped ride, didn't appear to lose any assembly ( #57 00611041 bush /ferrule , #58 0611040 ring ), refitted. Noticed speedo bulb wasn't working. Could I have blown the bulb while running the Lamb without cable connected for a few miles, with a Varitronic flywheel? Thanks and forgive if this is mentioned elsewhere.

The bulb filament is toast , and only about 3.5 cm across to fit in the speedo. No one but a Lamb supply is gonna have that.
