Dell’Orto PHBL 24/Casa185/BMG Clubperson

Aloha.

Bike: ‘74 Serveta LiS150.

This should be a common setup. I’m only working with what was in the box (100 main, D22+D29 needle) so I’d love a clue.

Here’s what I have:

The Jet200 Dell’Orto PHBL 24 kit from Casalambretta USA

The Casa 185 kit (post-2022 manufactured)

The BMG Clubman v4

The Casatronic regular 12V ignition

No filter but the hose is on and connected to the toolbox (today)

Standard engine otherwise.

It starts and drives okay, with noticeable differences in responsiveness in the throttle zones.

So far with the resources I have at hand:

D29 needle at second clip (from top, third from bottom))

100 main (kit jet)

200 Needle Valve (kit valve)

40 Slide (kitten slide)

264AQ Atomizer (came with)

50 Idle Jet (lazy sod)

60 Choke jet (stock)

9.5 grams (roll a fatty)

  • I tried the D22 on the second clip (from top, third from buttocks) and it was a dog.

  • I dropped the needle down to the last clip from the top (first from the bottom) and that sucked.

  • I dropped the needle clip and it immediately vaporized.

So before I shop (EBT), anyone have a list before I disturb Jon?

SEA LEVEL (NYC).

Thank you in advance.

I have a similar set up

PHBL 24

BGM 195

BGM Sport, but was a clubman until the bracket broke

I am also at sea level but in California

I messed with it quite a bit, but this is where I ended up:

Dellorto  PHBL 24

Main     102

Atomiser  Aq266

Pilot      50           *Changed from 51 after sport exhaust 03/16/24

Needle D26       3rd Clip Down

Float     300

Slide     40

Plug      BR9ES

For the most part I got it close myself but wanted a professional opinion and the guys a scooter speed dropped the main from a 108 to the current 102.

Another thing to note is the 300 float, my carburetor came with a 200 and I was told this could have the potential for fuel starvation, which is obviously a lean condition.

Good luck!

Tom
